PROFILE
Mr Vikas Dixit teaches Science and Mathematics
in the Government Senior Secondary School,
Kota, Rajasthan.
He did his graduation in Science from Autonomous
College, Kota in 1990. He post-graduated in
Physics from Meerut University, Meerut in
1992. Thereafter, he did his BEd from Maharishi
Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer in 1993.
He later did a Post Graduate Diploma in Business
Application from DOEACC Society in 2004.
He began his teaching career in 1994 from
Bal Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School, Kota,
before moving to the Government Senior Secondary
School in 1997.
Mr Dixit believes that orientation programmes
for teachers should be conducted regularly
in order to keep them abreast of the latest
teaching methodologies as also to help students
gain more from their lectures. He wishes there
was more emphasis on moral and practical education
and less concentration on learning by rote.
Mr Dixit has been organising district and
state-level sports competition for his school,
apart from other cultural events. He also
helps his students prepare educational models
for projects.
For his extraordinary dedication and professionalism,
Mr Dixit was honoured by the Gram Panchayat
of the region as the Best Teacher in the years
2000, 2002 and 2005.
