PROFILE

Ms Sandhya Chouri has been teaching English in Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Kishangarh, Ajmer for the last 15 years.

Ms Sandhya Chouri did her schooling from Manikya Lal Verma Higher Secondary School, Bhilwara, Rajasthan and went on to do her graduation and post graduation from the college run by the same institution. She did her BEd from Teachers Training College, Udaipur in 1978.

She started her teaching career in 1980 at Girls Higher Secondary School, Banswara and spent five years there. In the year 1985, she was selected as a School Lecturer through the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) and completed her MEd from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla the following year.

At Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Ajmer, she has been a well known teacher for phonetics and literature to senior students. Besides the regular activities at school she has been actively involved in preparing students for debate competitions at the district and state level.

She is a also a resource person for the re-orientation programme in the school which, includes among other things revision of syllabus.

In 2002 Ms Chouri was awarded by Senior District Magistrate, Kishangarh, Ajmer for 100 percent result for her school in the board examinations for five consecutive years. In 2004 and 2008 she was awarded by Nagridas Kala Sansthan for the development of female literacy and social work.

Apart from teaching, Ms Chouri is immensely passionate about painting and
indulges herself in it whenever she gets time. She is also fond of reading, traveling and photography.
